Job Summary

Under the direction of the Shift Leader and Production Supervisor/Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for setting up and operating equipment used to blend, mix, package, and transport liquid or dry chemicals that comprise customer products. Safety is the top priority. The Production Associate ensures high-quality production at the lowest possible cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and start all machines; verify controls and settings for adherence to mixing and packaging procedures.

  • Weigh and measure ingredients according to recipe specifications and load materials into equipment.

  • Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.

  • Operate machinery to mix, discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.

  • Inspect materials visually and physically to verify conformance with quality standards.

  • Deliver samples to the laboratory for testing when required.

  • Report issues or irregularities to the Lead or Supervisor.

  • Perform required cleaning of machines and equipment.

  • Complete and maintain all required computer entries and documentation.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of production data.

  • Maintain logs, data reports, procedures, and other records as required.

  • Participate in training, retraining, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards within the department.

  • Support the company's mission, vision, and guiding principles.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in blending, packaging, weighing operations, and forklift operation.

  • Work collaboratively with team members across all phases of operation.

  • Follow all HS&E, ISO, and other regulatory rules and procedures.

  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.


Required Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.

  • Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and product recipes.

  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; ability to apply these skills to weights, volumes, and measurements.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office.

  • Manual dexterity to use various hand tools.

  • Ability to operate a forklift.

  • Problem-solving abilities and basic mechanical aptitude.


Education & Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.

  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of industrial or manufacturing experience preferred.


Physical Demands

The physical requirements listed below represent those necessary to successfully perform essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Stand, walk, use hands, reach, and handle materials for 8–12 hours per shift.

  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.

  • Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment

While performing job duties, employees may occasionally be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical parts

  • Fumes or airborne particles

  • Noise levels ranging from normal office noise to loud production environments

Mandatory PPE (worn 8–12 hours per shift):

  • Hearing protection on the production floor

  • Steel-toe shoes/boots on the production floor

  • Specific gloves as required for certain tasks
