Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Gates, NY

Summary: Step into a dynamic and precision-driven environment as a Machining Operator within our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you'll set up and operate a variety of equipment including punch presses, shears, guillotines, laminators, die cutters, and plotters. You'll play a key role in interpreting order instructions and engineering drawings, maintaining quality standards, and producing high-performance components.

This is a hands-on, temp-to-perm position ideal for those with mechanical aptitude, strong time management, and a proactive mindset. We offer a collaborative workplace that values safety, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate punch presses, shears, guillotines, laminators, die cutters, and plotting machines.
  • Gather materials and devices per job requirements.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Inspect products for accuracy and quality, ensuring first-piece and in-process inspection compliance.
  • Maintain equipment and materials, tracking output and job time.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, using equipment guards and participating in safety training.
  • Follow LEAN manufacturing practices and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Cross-train in other production areas such as assembly, inspection, doming, screen printing, and more.
  • Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or machining role preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages).
  • Strong reasoning skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment and handle physical job demands.
  • Time management, professionalism, and a team-focused attitude.
  • Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to train).
