Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Shift Leader and Production Supervisor/Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for the setup and operation of equipment which blends, mixes, packages, or transports the liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. The production associate ensures safety is their #1 priority; they produce the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with *** Corporation policies and procedures.
- Sets up and starts all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing or packaging procedures.
- Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specifications and inserts them into machinery.
- Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues.
- Operates machinery to mix, discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
- Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
- May take samples of materials to the lab for evaluations and instructions.
- Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition.
- Performs all required machine cleaning.
- Completes and maintains all required computer inputs.
- Responsible for data integrity.
- Documents work completed as required, including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
- Participates in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods.
- Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
- Supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
- Demonstrates and meets qualification on blending, packaging, weighing operations, and forklift.
- Demonstrates teamwork in all phases of operation.
- Follows all rules, laws, and procedures related to HS&E, ISO, and other regulations.
- Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Required Skills:
- Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
- Must be able to read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and product recipes/materials.
- Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to apply these skills to weights, measures of volume, and distance.
- Must effectively communicate in writing and verbally in English.
- Competency in computer and PC software, including email, internet, and MS Office.
- Must have manual dexterity for hand tools of various types.
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
- Must have problem-solving skills and some mechanical aptitude.
Required Education & Experience:
- US High School diploma, GED equivalency, or equivalent experience.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of industrial/manufacturing experience.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to:

- Employees are required to wear mandatory PPE (8 to 12 hours per shift), which includes:
- Hearing protection when on the production floor.
- Steel toe shoes/boots when on the production floor.
