Vice President of Operations
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the COO, the Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production and operations across multiple buildings. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operational Planning and Strategy
- Develop and implement operational strategies and production plans in coordination with Production Managers and the Industrial Engineer.
- Attend production meetings, project kick-offs, and gather all necessary data for various projects.
- Ensure all Bill of Materials (BOM) parts and client-supplied materials are ordered, scheduled, and received in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the COO and Industrial Engineer to review BOM and drawings, requesting adjustments as necessary.
- Translate high-level strategies into detailed production plans (macro/micro).
- Align production plans with Operations Managers across CNC, Decorations, and other departments.
Production Oversight and Execution
- Monitor production across all buildings to ensure projects meet quality and timeline expectations.
- Lead daily 15-minute follow-up meetings with supervisors to ensure ongoing progress and address any immediate concerns.
- Update dashboards and visual management tools, highlighting any critical issues or "red flags."
- Lead ad-hoc meetings as needed to address urgent matters.
Supervision and Labor Management
- Supervise assembly operations, ensuring supervisors organize production activities according to established plans.
- Adjust labor allocation based on workload and production demands.
- Ensure production meets efficiency, pace, and lead-time expectations.
- Maintain strict adherence to guidelines and quality control (QC) plans throughout production.
Cross-functional Communication and Project Coordination
- Interface with Production Managers (CNC, Vac Form, Decorations, etc.) to ensure projects proceed according to schedule.
- Work closely with Project Managers to adjust production plans as needed and communicate any necessary updates.
- Report any risks or challenges to the COO in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Industrialization Department to optimize jigs, line layouts, and methods for improved efficiency.
- Propose and implement process improvements, organizational enhancements, and procedural optimizations.
- Actively participate in end-of-project meetings, offering suggestions for future improvements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in a Manufacturing / Fabrication environment.
- Proven management and leadership experience.
- Ability to handle stress and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
The VP of Operations will report to the COO and work closely with all company departments to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. Extensive benefits package.
This is a full-time permanent position that will pay up to a $130K base salary plus a sizeable discretioanry bonus that can reach 25k.
