Maintenance Tech III

Salary: up to $30/hr depending on experience
Shift: 1st (M-F 7am-3:30pm)
This is a direct hire opportunity

SUMMARY: Maintain plant equipment and facilities, work on continuous improvement projects, perform mechanical and electrical repairs, utilize CMMS system to log work, help manage spares inventory

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Wear proper PPE at all times and perform all work safely, utilizing proper LOTO, and being a peer's keeper.
  • Use the CMMS system to track and complete all proactive work orders (such as PMs and Projects) and all reactive work orders (such as emergency failures).
  • Help maintain accurate inventory within the CMMS software.
  • Able to work unsupervised and complete work orders on backlog alone and with a partner.
  • Able to safely operate forklifts and boom lifts.
  • Electrical: Perform electrical work to code, troubleshoot/work with up to 480 VAC 3-Phase electrical systems, run conduit, pull wire, commission new equipment, troubleshoot/repair controls issues.
  • Mechanical: Perform mechanical repairs such as pump rebuilds, weld repairs, motor swaps, facilities maintenance, PVC and steel pipe repairs and runs, etc.
  • Support a proactive approach to plant safety utilizing existing safety training and recommend additional training as needed.
  • Train new technicians in mechanical or electrical maintenance skills they may not already possess and get them acquainted with the facility. Must be committed to best practices, 6S, and safety.
  • Support compliance to all published plant safety policies and procedures developed by the company and government agencies.
  • Promote active communication within the department and with other departments to strengthen working relationships, effectively implement changes, and quickly respond to the changing needs of our customers.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed, willing to work overtime when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent - College degree a plus
  • Five years Mechanical/Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience in an industrial environment
  • NFPA 70E and Controls knowledge a must, PLC Troubleshooting experience preferred
