Job Description: Software Obsolescence technical lead

The selected candidate will be the Software Obsolescence technical lead, and in that role, will manage the Software Obsolescence Roadmap for the Orion program. The selected candidate will collaborate with key program stakeholders (Architects, Responsible Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Software Managers) to jointly identify software updates approaching End-of-Life (EOL) or End-of-Support (EOS) and proactively address Orion Software Obsolescence. The candidate will develop replacement plans and implement mitigation strategies to minimize business disruption.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a Software Obsolescence Roadmap for the Orion program.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze the program's Software Baseline Matrix and identify End-of- Life and End-of-Support plans for all software items.
Coordinate with Software Architects and other Subject Matter Experts to ensure bundled software upgrades align with program objectives.
Communicate plans and progress to internal and external stakeholders and approval boards.
Identify opportunities to refine and improve the Obsolescence Roadmap.
Develop and recommend strategies for cost avoidance with respect to obsolescence upgrades.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Must be a US citizen due to program requirements.


Desired Skills:
Strong knowledge of obsolescence management principles and practices.
Experience in human spaceflight, with a focus on software development and integration.
Experience with IT, including system software, security software, and asset management.
Experience with relational database management.
Experience with Dev Ops.


Typical Minimums:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
