eGIS GIS Specialist – Contract
Location: Brooklyn

About the Role:
The Electric eGIS team is seeking a skilled GIS professional to support the migration of legacy mapping systems to Schneider Electric’s ArcFM platform. This is a contract opportunity with potential for extension, focused on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of utility mapping data.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate and review legacy mapping data migrated to the Esri GIS system, ensuring land base symmetry, structure connectivity, and cable integrity.

  • Check attribute data for all linear and point features for Electric and Gas components.

  • Perform map symbology updates and provide solutions as needed.

  • Lead and participate in testing efforts for vendor deliverables, including factory acceptance, system acceptance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Advocate for end-users throughout the testing process, collaborating with development teams to address feedback and enhance system usability.

  • Review and provide feedback on project documentation, including test plans and scripts, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Utilize Azure DevOps or similar testing tools to plan, execute, and document tests.

  • Assist with other eGIS projects as needed, developing a strong understanding of mapping systems, processes, and electrical/gas mapping standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience using ESRI ArcMap; knowledge of Esri GIS and ArcFM is preferred.

  • Proficient in MXD building, spatial queries, and spatial analysis.

  • Experience in utility environments (electric and/or gas).

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks independently.

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
