Nesco Resource is looking for an experienced Grinding Specialist to support our client's precision manufacturing operations in Elmira, NY. Job Overview:
As a Grinding Specialist (Cylindrical Grinder III), Senior level machinist, you will operate and set up high-precision grinding equipment to produce tight-tolerance parts. You'll work independently in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment, helping deliver critical components to the client's manufacturing process.
Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd Shifts
Pay Rate: $32.00 – $38.00/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate cylindrical and surface grinders for tight-tolerance work
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T specifications, and work instructions
- Use precision tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, and bore gauges
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections for accuracy and quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean work area in line with company and OSHA standards
- Accurately document production activities and complete job routers
- Support and mentor junior team members as needed
Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
- 5 years of experience in high-precision grinding operations
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Proven ability to consistently hold tight tolerances ( 0.0002 ")
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and lift up to 30 lbs
