Quality Product Engineer

About the Role
The Quality Product Engineer plays a key role in driving process control, improving metrology capabilities, and supporting engineering teams through advanced CMM programming and inspection work. This position focuses on reducing variation, strengthening quality systems, and ensuring products and processes meet all internal and customer requirements.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, improving systems, and working closely with engineering, production, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and improve CMM programming and other metrology functions to support production and engineering.
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and blueprints to verify internal capability and compliance.
- Conduct internal process and product audits in alignment with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Lead and follow up on Root Cause and Corrective Action efforts.
- Monitor, track, and communicate key process variables and metrics to ensure proper process control.
- Update department and system procedures to reflect improvements in manufacturing and administrative functions.
- Serve as a customer-facing representative for quality matters; prepare technical documentation including certificates of conformance, RMAs, and internal procedures.
- Support manufacturing and engineering teams with inspection requirements and part processing.
- Assist with MRB activities, including product conformity checks, acceptance, rework recommendations, and scrap decisions.
- Participate in customer calls to support quality issue resolution.
- Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience with PC-DMIS, including programming.
- Strong foundation in GD&T and metrology.
- Background in quality or engineering within a manufacturing environment; ability to interpret and act on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with quality functions such as calibration, document control, auditing, corrective action, MRB, specification review, product certification, and ISO/AS audit support.
- Experience interpreting OEM quality and part specifications in industries such as aerospace, industrial gas turbine, or automotive.
- Experience supporting new product or new part development programs.
- Experience with airfoil components (aerospace or IGT) is a plus.
- Clear sense of urgency and ownership regarding quality system performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- SolidWorks or 3D modeling experience is a plus.
- Experience with physical dimensional inspection methods is a plus.
