Our customer, a third-party electrical testing company that is NETA-accredited, is growing and is currently looking for a talented Power Systems Engineer to join their team and support their national service offerings. Please note, this role is ideally based out of the Denver, CO area, but requires frequent travel to client sites across the country.

Position: Power Systems Engineer (Power Study Engineer)
Location: Denver, CO area (Travel Required)

Position Overview:
The Power Systems Engineer will perform and support a variety of power system and engineering studies, including those for different voltage levels, from straightforward tasks to complex analyses. The role will involve both field and customer activities, such as data collection, electrical system analysis, and revising one-line diagrams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and assist with a variety of power system studies , including short circuit analysis, coordination of protective devices, arc flash studies, and load flow analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to support the full range of engineering activities and projects.
  • Perform on-site data collection, analyze electrical systems, and make necessary revisions to system one-lines and configurations.
  • Assist in complex engineering studies such as reliability, harmonics, and maintenance-focused analyses.
  • Help compile and document essential power system information, such as system configurations, equipment ratings, and settings.
  • Support the preparation of project proposals , estimates, and scope development for power system studies.
  • Participate in fieldwork, assisting with EMF, load, voltage, and power quality measurements and generating related reports.
  • Gain proficiency in relevant software tools and systems used for power systems engineering and support training for other team members.
  • Contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures related to conducting power system studies and electrical testing activities.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field.
  • Must have completed and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or be willing to take and pass the FE exam within 12 months of hire.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, peers, field engineers, and management.
  • Ability to demonstrate mature judgment and take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and occasional night shifts as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, talk, and hear; prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer are also required.
  • Valid Driver's License .

Additional Information:

  • This position requires travel, and you will be expected to support power system studies across multiple regions and clients.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
