Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Tax Specialist to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient compliance with sales tax obligations while minimizing overall liabilities. This role focuses on the preparation and filing of multi-state sales and use tax returns and involves working collaboratively to ensure adherence to all state and local tax regulations.
Hourly Rate: $45
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and file multi-state sales and use tax returns using Vertex to ensure compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
- Research and interpret sales tax rules and regulations relevant to specific products and services to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify, address, and minimize sales tax liabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting); CPA certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in multi-state sales tax accounting.
- Strong expertise in researching tax laws, rules, and regulations related to sales tax.
- Proficiency with Vertex Returns or similar tax management systems is required.
- Experience with Oracle and Tableau is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate with team members.
This position requires in-office presence for one week each month, specifically during the second or third week, ideally before the 20th of each month. During this week, you will be required to work onsite for five consecutive days.
