Nesco Resource is search of a Grinding Process Engineer for one of our clients in Bethel, CT.
SUMMARY:
The individual working in this position will be responsible for the execution and optimization of grinding processes for semi-finished (wire and tube) and finished Nitinol components. This position requires a high level of technical understanding of grinding equipment and applications. It requires the practical application of good manufacturing and engineering practices. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management, analytical and communication skills along with an aptitude for hands-on problem solving.
- Support the Component and Manufacturing Engineering teams as technical liaison for efforts involving grinding process technologies (Centerless / Thru-feed / Pointing / ECG).
- Collaboratively work with internal (engineering, production and quality) and external customers to develop processes, instructions and maintenance plans necessary to support available grinding technologies.
- Apply technical knowledge of grinding process to manufacture small diameter, tight tolerance components.
- Design robust, cost effective grinding processes and oversee their implementation.
- Troubleshoot problems and define preventative and corrective actions.
- Establish costs for new ground products and evaluate how changes affect costs.
- Generate system documentation including creation of prints, procedures, work instructions, specifications and other documentation as necessary.
- Effectively present findings or oral arguments to customers and management when necessary.
- Maintain, repair and upgrade grinding systems as necessary.
- Adhere to company procedures / quality standards and ensure compliance to customer specifications and applicable external regulations (ex: FDA).
- Work with Sales, Operations, Quality, Customer Service, Logistics and HR as required.
- BS or MS in Engineering with 5 years relevant grinding experience, capable of working in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Must be familiar with Royal Master and Glebar Centerless Grinders.
- Must be familiar with ECG grinders (Everite/Tridex).
- Must be proficient with MS Office.
- Must possess solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
- Individual must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.
- Must be extremely flexible regarding priority changes.

- Salary range: $80K - 90K based on education and experience
