Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician I


Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, office furniture assembly, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) routine inspections, as well as groundskeeping. The role requires a strong ability to diagnose and address basic maintenance issues using both power and hand tools.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide facilities maintenance support including plumbing, carpentry, door hardware, office furniture assembly, and HVAC routine inspections.
  • Perform minor groundskeeping and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Required):

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of six months of facilities maintenance experience or equivalent in-class instruction.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to solve practical problems and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical, and equipment malfunctions (e.g., tire machines or vehicle hoists).
  • Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measurement, including fractions.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tool Proficiency: Basic skills in the use of power and hand tools. Must have basic power and hand tools (a tool list will be provided upon hire).
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills to enter information into a work order system and research repair methods as needed.
  • Driving: Good driving record and reliable transportation.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Preferred):

  • Equipment Operation: Skilled in the use of a forklift and scissor lift.
  • Experience: General maintenance experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Tools: Must have personal hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
