Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician I
Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, office furniture assembly, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) routine inspections, as well as groundskeeping. The role requires a strong ability to diagnose and address basic maintenance issues using both power and hand tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide facilities maintenance support including plumbing, carpentry, door hardware, office furniture assembly, and HVAC routine inspections.
- Perform minor groundskeeping and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Required):
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of six months of facilities maintenance experience or equivalent in-class instruction.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to solve practical problems and diagnose basic plumbing, electrical, and equipment malfunctions (e.g., tire machines or vehicle hoists).
- Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measurement, including fractions.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Tool Proficiency: Basic skills in the use of power and hand tools. Must have basic power and hand tools (a tool list will be provided upon hire).
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills to enter information into a work order system and research repair methods as needed.
- Driving: Good driving record and reliable transportation.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (Preferred):
- Equipment Operation: Skilled in the use of a forklift and scissor lift.
- Experience: General maintenance experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Tools: Must have personal hand tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
