Nesco is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer to assist with a refresh on a contract, with the possibility of becoming full-time, basis. The hours are flexible to support the two campus' onsite in the NYC area.
Our customer is a Cisco shop and will be upgrading 150-200 switches, cabling, and layering on a configuration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco networking equipment and a strong understanding of network design and infrastructure.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment (switches, routers, etc.).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Experience with network cabling and physical infrastructure.
- Ability to design and implement network layers and configurations.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with specific experience in Cisco switch upgrades and network configuration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
