About the Role
Senior-level electrical engineering position supporting utility and power delivery projects from concept through construction.
This role blends hands-on technical leadership with project ownership and mentoring of engineering staff.
Ideal for a licensed PE who wants visible impact across utility infrastructure and client-facing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Utility Power System Design & Engineering

Lead engineering for overhead and underground distribution and substation-related projects

Develop construction-ready designs, specifications, and technical packages

Perform system studies, technical evaluations, and design reviews for utility infrastructure
Technical Leadership & PE Oversight

Serve as Engineer of Record on utility projects

Provide technical direction, design review, and QA/QC for engineers and designers

Mentor junior engineers and engineering technicians
Project Execution & Client Support

Support project scoping, schedules, and execution across multiple utility clients

Act as a primary technical point of contact with utility stakeholders and project teams

Participate in design reviews, field coordination, and constructability discussions
Standards, Compliance & Best Practices

Apply utility standards, engineering codes, and regulatory requirements across designs

Ensure technical consistency, safety, and constructability throughout project lifecycles
Qualifications
Licensure & Education
-
Professional Engineer (PE) – Electrical (required)
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Utility & Power Experience
-
5 years of experience supporting electric utilities, cooperatives, or power delivery projects

Strong background in distribution and/or substation engineering
Technical Strengths

Solid understanding of utility equipment, protection concepts, and power system components

Experience producing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations

Comfortable working across multiple projects and client environments
