Overview
Nesco Resource is seeking a skilled Looms Creeler to join our team in Hickory, NC. This position is for the day shift, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in textile manufacturing or similar environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of creel machines, which are used to feed yarn into looms for weaving.
Responsibilities
- Review daily production sheets to understand order requirements.
- Inspect and ensure the functionality of all safety harnesses and equipment before and during shifts.
- Load yarn and properly string it through tensions and eyelets to the front of the creel machine.
- Verify that yarns are correctly threaded in eyelet bars and promptly address any broken strands.
- Safely ascend and descend ladders as needed.
- Identify creel types and set up machines according to specifications.
- Load creel machines following the loom schedule.
- Tie the start of a new yarn package to the tail of the previous package.
- Utilize latex gloves during specific operations as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math skills, including understanding percentages, ratios, and unit conversions (e.g., g/kg, mm/inch).
Preferred Qualifications
- High accuracy in completing production and nonconforming material documentation.
- Ability to identify quality issues and adhere to operational discipline.
- Familiarity with site safety and security procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures.
- Experience troubleshooting machinery and production processes.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, regarding production, quality, and maintenance issues.
- Proficiency in creating clear and concise production-related documentation.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is highly desired.
- Forklift driving certification is highly desirable; training and certification can be provided on the job.
