Job Summary
The slitting machine operator is responsible for operation of slitting machinery and performing periodic inspections, to check the quality of material prior to and during slitting process.
Job Responsibilities
Before startup clean machine and area
Review job orders to determine any special specifications, and quantities to be produced
Operator goes and picks up web roll and other necessary materials to prepare for machine setup.
Load web roll and thread through the machine, input specific parameters into the control panel.
Cut core length per job card specifications
Attach film to the core with tape
Adjust slitting blade and change out if necessary
Start machine
Visual check of film for defects
Once job is complete, take out slit roll, label, and place on pallet for logistics.
Remove edge trim spool when full
Complete production and shift report
Maintain PM's on the machine and other equipment as needed
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or Technical Degree or certification preferred.
Manufacturing Degree
