Job Description:
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with housekeeping safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements Adhere to GMP guidelines for personal practices regarding hygiene and cleanliness Responsible for maintaining supply of packaging materials which may include bags, pails, labels, lids, boxes and tips to ensure efficient operation Support startup of all equipment by ensuring area is clean, removing product from the line until product is in spec Communicate to operators Pre-whip pails: supply pails, label pails, de-nest pails and place under fillers, lid and seal pails, palletize pails up to 15 lb each Liquid pails: supply pails, label pails, lid pails, palletize pails up to 35 lbs 3-fill and 9-fill packing: quality inspection of bags, case configurations for palletizing, pack bags into proper case count and configuration at a speed of up to 60 bags per minute Performs process control and quality checks, and may assist Quality Assurance technicians in obtaining product samples Assists with product changeovers for packaging materials Completes re-work / re-melt process for out of specification pails or bags Adhere to break relief and job rotation guidelines for specific product lines Administers technical training of other general laborer or temporary associates Ability to manually palletize of cases and pails when required on pallets to a height up to 72 inches Support proper start-up and shut-down of equipment and related checklists
Skills/Experience:
*Our skill block (cross training) program is designed to develop associates in batching, conversion, and logistics, so that one day they will be interchangeable. 1.Batching is probably the most demanding role since there needs to be extra attention to detail and strict timelines must be followed. Batchers need to be able to make decisions as variations occur in the batching process. 2.Conversion associates need the skill set found in most machine operators. Our equipment is not overly complicated, but the operators need to be able to make minor adjustments and repairs. 3.Our logistics group is typical of most warehousing companies with the exception of our freezer. There are days when a logistics person needs to spend a majority of their time in a -30 degree environment. Basic communication in English, able to handle repetitious tasks, able to lift up to 50lbs, able to work under temperature from -30F to 105F, where applicable, able to stand on f
