Job Title: Screen-Prep Operator
Location: Gates, NY

Summary: Nesco Resource is partnered with a reputable manufacturer in Gates NY, seeking a Temp to Perm Screen-Prep Operator! This role is critical to supporting screen-printing operations through the preparation, reclaiming, coating, and exposure of screens. In this role you'll be responsible for setting up and operating multiple screen-prep processes while ensuring all screens meet engineering specifications and quality standards.

This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working with mechanical equipment, chemicals, and production tools. You'll also have the opportunity to cross-train in other departments, expanding your technical skillset and long-term growth potential.

Shift:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday

Pay:

  • $17.00 – $18.00/Hour, Based On Exp.


Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate screen-prep equipment according to process parameters and tolerances.
  • Gather materials, inks, screens, and tools required per job specifications.
  • Reclaim screens by adjusting solvents, exposure times, and drying processes.
  • Strip frames, apply mesh, and tension screens for optimal performance.
  • Coat screens with emulsion and verify accurate, consistent coating results.
  • Set and expose screens to create stencils for screen-printing operations.
  • Inspect and prepare stencils to improve print operator efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Review engineering drawings and permanent records to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Perform visual inspections and obtain first-piece approvals at required process steps.
  • Maintain equipment, document production output, and track time per job.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles and all safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace; ensure materials and components are properly stored after each run.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities, including inspection, assembly, doming, digital imaging, machining, and screen printing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to document daily production and job data accurately.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills in standardized production environments.
  • Effective time management and professionalism in a team-oriented setting.
