Job Summary

Schedule: 3PM-11:30PM

This is a non-exempt position responsible for the production of high-quality medical devices within a manufacturing cell. Working under close supervision, the Manufacturing Technician may perform a combination of assembly, repair, and testing operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. Work is performed according to standardized procedures and is closely reviewed for quality and compliance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly, repair, and testing operations in accordance with written procedures and work instructions

  • Ensure all job documentation for cell operations is accurate and up to date

  • Maintain accurate production, traveler, and quality records to ensure full product traceability

  • Communicate ideas, issues, and solutions clearly to manufacturing leadership in both written and verbal form

  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with internal teams and external visitors (including tours)

  • Follow all safety guidelines and properly utilize required safety equipment

  • Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives to enhance production efficiency, quality, and profitability

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles

  • Support Manufacturing Supervisor/Manager in setting and monitoring individual goals and cell performance metrics

  • Support divisional initiatives and comply with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and all applicable regulatory requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions

  • Proficiency with electronic data collection systems and basic computer software

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow based on urgency and importance

  • Manual dexterity to handle and maneuver small components and parts

  • Ability to make critical decisions and sound judgments with minimal supervision

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Dress Code & Cleanroom Requirements

Due to strict manufacturing and cleanliness standards, the following dress code applies during interviews, tours, and on the job:

Clothing Requirements:

  • Clothing must be non-shedding, clean, and free of frayed hems, loose threads, lint, dirt, sand, or mud

  • No tassels, fringes, glitter, sequins, or detachable decorations

  • Sweaters, fleece, loose knit, or shedding fabrics are not permitted

  • All clothing from the waist up must fit fully under lab coat/gown

  • Sleeves and collars must not extend beyond lab coat/gown cuffs or neckline

  • Torsos, upper arms, and legs must be fully covered

  • Pants and skirts must extend to the ankle (skirts require full-length stockings, leggings, or pants underneath)

  • Sleeveless tops, cropped tops, slitted skirts, or short pants are not permitted

Footwear Requirements:

  • Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes required

  • Heel height must not exceed 2 inches

  • No sandals, clogs, slippers, open-toe/open-heel shoes, or woven footwear

  • Socks or stockings are required at all times

  • Shoe changes are only permitted in designated gowning areas

Personal Appearance & Hygiene:

  • No makeup, nail polish, acrylic/artificial nails, or nail coatings

  • No jewelry or body piercings that cannot be fully covered by gowning or may compromise gloves

  • No scented products except deodorant

  • Lotion may not be applied after hand washing

  • Lip balm (stick form only) may be applied outside production areas prior to hand washing

  • Open or bleeding wounds must be properly bandaged

  • Head coverings worn for cultural reasons must be tightly woven, clean, fully covered by a bouffant, and secured under the lab coat/gown

  • Do not wear clothing or items that could be considered offensive
