Machine Operator I is responsible for o perat ing industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine, etc. in accordance with company procedures . An operator will place the production part into the machine , cycle the equipment and retrieve the part . The employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts .

Other R esponsibilities:
  • Setting up machines at the beginning ofshift to ensure proper workingorder
  • Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shift
  • Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
  • Ensure stocks /inventory of needed materials and tools are ready and available at all times
  • Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors
  • Properly use personal protective equipment when required
  • Notify supervisors/leads of problems that may occur with equipment or part quality
  • Other activities may include but are not limitedto: cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding, prepping kits andlayouts to meet customerspecifications
  • Maintain regular attendance have reliable means of transportation
  • Performother tasks as assigned
Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/trainingin relation to skills listed below is alsodesirable .
  • Must haveintermediateblueprint reading knowledgeand theability to follow the work order instructions
  • Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)
  • Mustbe able to pass a background check andpre-employmentdrug test
  • Teamplayer- must be able to work with others assigned tomachine
  • Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals
  • Adaptable to changing demands
  • Attentive to detail watching for materialdefects and any quality issues
  • Physically capable of standing,walking,bending,pushing, pulling, reaching, andtwisting throughoutshift
  • Capableofrepetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.
  • Candidates must be flexibleto workovertime as needed, which may include weekends and/orholidays
Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a typicalmanufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.
  • A normally cleanwork environment where the process creates somegrinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors,andvibration.Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
  • The noise level in the work environmentis normaltomanufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement.
  • A non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In the winter it is heated.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Entry-level experience (training may be provided)

Required Equipment:
Steel Toe Shoes/Boots
Basic tools
