Job Title: Electronic Soldering Operator
Location: Rochester, NY

Job Summary: NESCO Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Electronic Soldering Operator to support printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) production for a well-established manufacturing client in Rochester, NY. This position focuses on precise hand soldering, rework, and repair of electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC standards to ensure products meet strict quality and production requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, excellent attention to detail, and experience working in controlled electronics manufacturing environments.


Shift & Pay:

  • Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Pay Range: $17.00 – $21.00/Hour, Based On Exp.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hand soldering, rework, and touch-up on surface mount (SMT) and through-hole electronic components.

  • Inspect solder joints and component alignment using microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection tools.

  • Identify and correct soldering defects in compliance with IPC-A-610 standards.

  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

  • Accurately document rework activities and maintain detailed production records.

  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve production or quality issues.

  • Follow ESD protocols and adhere to all safety and quality procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked workstation.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: 1–2 years of hand soldering experience preferred.

  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.

  • Ability to safely operate soldering irons, hot air tools, and other hand tools.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.


Physical Demands:

  • Work performed in a cleanroom or ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

  • Prolonged use of microscopes or magnification equipment required.

  • Fine motor skills required for precision soldering tasks.
