Job Title: Electronic Soldering Operator

Position Summary
Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Electronic Soldering Operator to support printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) production for a well-established manufacturing client in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for performing precise hand soldering, rework, and repair in accordance with IPC standards to ensure products meet strict quality and production specifications. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, steady manual dexterity, and experience working in controlled electronics manufacturing environments.

Shift: Mornings 7am- 3:30pm M-F

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $21.00 Based on Experience
Core Duties & Responsibilities

Perform hand soldering, rework, and touch-up on surface mount (SMT) and through-hole electronic components.

Inspect solder joints and component alignment using microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection tools.

Identify and correct soldering defects in compliance with IPC-A-610 standards.

Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Accurately document rework activities and maintain detailed production records.

Collaborate with quality inspectors and engineering teams to resolve production or quality issues.

Follow ESD protocols and all company safety policies and procedures.

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation.
Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent required.

1–2 years of experience in hand soldering electronic components preferred.

IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification preferred.

Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.

Ability to safely and effectively use soldering irons, hot air tools, and other hand tools.

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Work performed in a cleanroom or ESD-controlled manufacturing environment.

Requires sitting or standing for extended periods.

Prolonged use of microscopes or magnification equipment required.
