Job Title: Cable Harness Operator

Summary

Nesco Resource is seeking a detail-oriented Cable Harness Operator to join the Production team for a well-established manufacturing client in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for building, inspecting, and maintaining high-quality cable harness assemblies while adhering to strict quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate is focused, self-motivated, and able to perform precision work in a fast-paced production environment.


Shift & Pay

  • Shift: Mornings 7am- 3:30pm M-F

  • Pay Rate: $17.00 - $21.00 Based on Experience


Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all required materials, tools, and documentation are available prior to the start of each build.

  • Assemble cable harnesses while maintaining required quality levels, including during high-volume production runs.

  • Inspect finished and in-process products to identify non-conforming components or assemblies.

  • Stop production when required if products do not meet established quality standards.

  • Utilize cell-specific tools to maintain quality, including but not limited to pull force testers, crimp height micrometers, rulers, and multimeters.

  • Support 5S standards, production metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled team meetings focused on 5S, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

  • Support overtime requirements as production demands dictate.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Process Coordinator.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in all aspects of cable harness assembly.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precision work using small components.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong listening skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.

  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks within established procedures and timelines.

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet production deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Computer literate.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Highly detail-oriented, diligent, and self-motivated.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work is performed in a production or manufacturing environment with repetitive assembly tasks.

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and use of hands for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as required.

  • Must be able to speak, listen, and communicate clearly.

  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
