About the Role
We’re seeking a technically strong Project Engineer to support the execution of engineered-to-order industrial cooling equipment. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning projects end-to-end, working directly with customers, and serving as the technical bridge between engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
You’ll take responsibility for projects once they transition from the sales/application phase and remain accountable through design validation, fabrication support, and shipment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Ownership

Assume responsibility for projects at internal handoff and manage them through completion and delivery

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle

Lead project kickoff meetings and align internal teams on scope, schedule, and requirements
Engineering Coordination

Translate customer requirements into complete engineering packages for design and manufacturing

Review thermal, mechanical, and code-related calculations using internal and third-party tools

Ensure engineering designs meet applicable specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Design & Documentation

Review and submit approval drawings to customers, incorporating feedback as needed

Review manufacturing drawings prior to procurement and fabrication to ensure accuracy and build readiness

Maintain clear, accurate project documentation across departments
Execution & Communication

Coordinate schedules with Planning, Purchasing, and Production to support on-time delivery

Monitor project progress and proactively resolve technical or scheduling challenges

Support final shipping coordination and documentation as required
Project Leadership

Provide technical guidance and oversight to project-related engineering resources

Support workload coordination and execution quality within assigned projects
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline

5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial equipment environment

Strong understanding of mechanical and thermal design principles

Experience supporting engineered or custom-built industrial systems (heat transfer experience preferred)

Proficiency interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations

Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating directly with customers

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based with regular interaction in a manufacturing facility. PPE is required when on the shop floor, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear. The manufacturing environment includes typical fabrication conditions such as noise, dust, and temperature variation. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
