Design Customer-Focused Busbar Solutions from Concept to Prototype
Nesco Resource is partnering with a local engineering and manufacturing organization to hire an Applications Engineer in Rochester. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working directly with customers, translating technical challenges into practical designs, and supporting projects from initial concept through prototyping and production.
What You'll Be Responsible For

Partner with customers to develop customized busbar solutions using internal design tools and simulation software

Lead designs from concept through prototype, working closely with manufacturing to ensure feasibility

Prepare cost estimates for new projects and support pricing for repeat business

Respond to technical questions from customers and internal sales teams

Support and maintain the online busbar configuration and design tools

Visit customer sites to review applications, promote solutions, and strengthen relationships

Develop technical strategies and quote approaches to improve win rates on new opportunities
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics

Strong communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Valid driver's license and passport required
(travel to Canada expected after the first year) -
Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor is a plus

Familiarity with inductance, partial discharge, or electrical performance concepts preferred

Experience using Comsol or similar simulation software is an asset
Work Environment

Production office environment within a manufacturing facility

Occasional exposure to shop-floor conditions such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors

Regular use of standard office and engineering tools
