Data Center Cabling Tech

Overview:

Join a hands-on field team installing and maintaining critical cabling and network systems in a data center environment. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork.

Location & Schedule:
 

• Location: New Albany, OH 43054

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am - 10 Hour Shift 
  Saturday - 7am (8-hour Shift)

• Occasional nights/weekends may be required

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Follow all safety protocols and best practices to maintain a zero-accident environment.

• Install, upgrade, and remove cabling and network infrastructure in data centers.

• Ensure high standards of work quality and compliance with project specifications.

• Read and interpret project drawings, plans, and manufacturer instructions.

• Apply knowledge of structured cabling systems during installation and commissioning.

• Keep work areas organized, maintain proper housekeeping, and safely handle materials.

• Adhere to client safety, security, and site access guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:
 

• Ability to follow instructions carefully and work well in a team environment.

• Experience using hand tools safely for telecom and construction tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt in fast-paced environments.

• Solid reliability, punctuality, and self-motivation.

• Basic color recognition and English proficiency (read, write, speak).

• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel minimally (~5%).

Education & Experience:
 

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in cabling, telecom, or data center installation.

• OSHA 10 certification preferred (must obtain within 90 days).

• First Aid/CPR certification required within 90 days.

• Fiber Optic Association or BICSI certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:
 

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that involve standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.

• May work in confined spaces, at heights, and in moderate noise environments.

Required Tools:
 

• Wire stripper/crimper, cutting pliers, needle nose pliers, torpedo level, tape measure, adjustable wrench, utility knife, cable splicer's knife, socket and open wrench sets, screwdrivers, hammer, flashlight, tool pouch/belt
