Overview

This role is responsible for the day-to-day support of production and non-production testing cycles, software releases, and test environment stability. This includes supporting online and batch activities across all environments, creating deployment packages, and using both in-house and vendor tools to enable business initiatives tied to software deployments. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve environment issues, coordinate testing support, plan deployments, and manage production implementation activities. The role also requires coordinating and escalating service requests with internal and external support teams to ensure smooth and timely issue resolution.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, processes, and ITIL best practices, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve service request, incident, problem, and change management workflows.
  • Develop, communicate, and execute deployment plans; oversee all production implementation activities.
  • Plan and coordinate environment changes, collaborating with application developers during pre-production and maintenance activities to align test and production schedules for Ingenium and Life70 environments.
  • Support the Manager of Environment Scheduling & Mainframe Operations in managing technical vendor relationships, including vendor evaluation, selection, contract negotiation, and SOW review.
  • Provide on-call support for production batch cycles and multiple test environments.

 

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Deep understanding of systems commonly used in non-production environments
  • Experience with life insurance enterprise systems (e.g., Ingenium, Life70, IDM, AWD)
  • Experience with enterprise job scheduling tools (e.g., CA Workload Automation ESP Edition)
  • Familiarity with database and query tools (AQT, SQL, WebFOCUS, UFT, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (CMD, PowerShell, Python, Java, Go)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft O365 and Office applications

Education & Experience

Required:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5–8 years of IT experience, including project management and support of non-production environments

Preferred:

  • ITIL Foundation certification
