Product Designer / Drafter
The Product Designer/Drafter is responsible for producing accurate and detailed 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings that support product development, engineering, and manufacturing activities. This role requires strong CAD proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and close collaboration with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create high-quality 2D drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software to support product design, prototyping, and production.
  • Develop and maintain complete assemblies and component-level models with proper file structure, version control, and adherence to engineering requirements.
  • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure clarity, accuracy, and manufacturability of technical drawings.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to interpret design intent, incorporate feedback, and ensure alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing efforts by generating detailed documentation, drawings, and updated revisions as required.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training, software exploration, CAD tool optimization, and coding or automation initiatives.
  • Follow established Core Tech standards, drafting procedures, and best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all design outputs.
  • Participate in design reviews, product changes, and process improvement activities as part of the engineering and drafting team.

Minimum Required Competencies
  • Associate degree or certificate in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD platforms, including 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work with precision, follow technical standards, and produce clearly documented outputs.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may also be considered.
