Job Title: CNC Operator
Location: Rochester, NY
Summary: We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator with setup experience to join a precision machining team on 2nd shift. You'll be responsible for machine setup, basic programming, offsets, and quality checks to ensure parts are made to spec. Ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment.
Shifts Available (2nd Shift):
- Option 1: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM (4x10s)
- Option 2: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (5x8s)
Pay Rate:
- $21.00 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes using proper tools, fixtures, and programs
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Troubleshoot issues related to tooling, fixtures, and part dimensions
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow job travelers
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines
- Communicate with other team members to support workflow and quality goals
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1–2 years CNC setup experience
- Must be able to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools
- Familiarity with G&M code and ability to make offset changes
- Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Willing to work 2nd shift consistently
