Mortgage Loan Processor

Job Purpose

Responsible for creating new mortgage loans and processing applications for the purchase or refinance of real estate for Credit Union members.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare pre-closing Loan Quality Initiative (LQI) requirements, conduct credit analysis, and perform quality control reviews of loan information.

  • Provide accurate closing and funding of mortgage loans across all 50 states and the U.S. Virgin Islands using the Prime Alliance LFC system.

  • Serve as a backup resource for initial member contact, including handling inbound calls and taking applications through the Prime Alliance loan origination system.

  • Represent the Mortgage Department at Credit Union events, seminars, and other special projects as assigned by Mortgage Department leadership.

  • Meet established deadlines and contribute to overall production goals.

  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account-related information and maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous banking or credit union experience.

  • Experience in mortgage lending.

  • Knowledge of Client, NCUA, and AAFCU Mortgage Lending Guidelines.

  • Residential mortgage closing and funding experience.

  • Working knowledge of PC-based mortgage software, including Desktop Underwriting, Prime Alliance, and Episys.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication abilities, and professional phone etiquette.

  • Effective verbal and written communication across all organizational levels.

  • Spanish language skills (speaking, reading, writing) are a plus.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and function under high-volume pressure.

  • Ability to thrive in a diverse work environment.

  • Quick learner with adaptability to change.

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance.

  • Must successfully complete all applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks.
