We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support our maintenance and production teams by troubleshooting, maintaining,and improving automated equipment and control systems. This role involves working with PLCs, HMIs, I/O devices, andautomation components, ensuring accurate documentation, preventive maintenance, and system reliability. The ideal candidatebrings strong experience with Allen Bradley software, a solid background in electrical/electronic troubleshooting, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the maintenance department by assisting in the troubleshooting of equipment issues which includes troubleshooting PLC ladder logic and data handling functions in Control Logix processors.
Maintain PLC documentation upon receipt from equipment suppliers and an archive of PLC programs and machine controlsdrawings upon receipt from equipment suppliers and an archive of PLC programs and machine controls drawings in anelectronic and/or paper format and throughout facility
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve automated equipment including devices, I/O, instruments and all other components associated with automated processes to meet production and safety goals.
Support various I/O devices connected to PLC's including HMI's, scanners, remote I/O, sensors, relays, solenoids, servo drives, etc., and support/assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting pneumatic circuits.
Schedule and complete backups of all electronic machine control and robotic programs on set schedule and develop andmaintain Preventive Maintenance Programs.
Applies knowledge of electronic and instrumentation principles to determine equipment malfunctions and applies skills inrestoring equipment to operation
Identify and plan for process impact(s) as a result of engineering and launch changes
Support 8D or similar root-cause based problem solving activities to ensure that abnormalities, when observed, are actedupon to resolve root-causes.
Contribute to specifications for equipment purchases, which include review and commentary on equipment controlsdrawings prior to build approval.
