Location: Wadsworth/Sharon Center area
Shift: 1 st (7 am to 3:30 pm)
Salary: $25-$36 an hour based on experience
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform routine, preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs on induction furnaces and other equipment within the plant which may include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting as necessary. Identify and recommend improvement opportunities in the preventative maintenance system.
- Work closely with production teams to schedule maintenance during planned downtimes.
- Work from engineering drawings, schematics, work orders, and manuals.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in furnace systems, including coil damage, refractory lining, cooling systems, and power supplies.
- Inspect and maintain furnace components such as power supplies, bus cables, cooling pumps, and induction coils. Monitor furnace performance and operational parameters (temperature, load, etc.) to detect anomalies.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in maintenance logs or CMMS.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and PPE requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems.
- Operate equipment pertaining to maintenance including fork trucks, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
- Housekeeping and organization as required, as well as other duties as requested by manager, ensuring that all safety requirements are practiced.
- 7 years of Maintenance Technician experience required. Journeyman card a plus
- Electrical experience required
- PLC troubleshooting required, programming a plus
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and electrical/mechanical prints.
- Experience with power distribution, instrumentation, and PLC controls.
- Experience with AC/DC motors, HVAC, and VFDs
- Experience with volt meters, ammeter, and other associated equipment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Practice 6S standards.
- High school diploma
- Ability to pass a preemployment screening
