Controls Engineer (Contract – Project Based)
Contracting through Nesco Resource to an end power generation client
We are looking for an experienced Lead Controls Engineer to support a project-based contract. This role will define requirements, guide design, and oversee implementation of advanced control systems, while also contributing hands-on to high-complexity work.
Key Responsibilities

Lead control system design strategy and set technical direction for projects.

Define requirements and ensure delivery of PLC/HMI/SCADA solutions.

Manage contractors, vendors, and engineering partners.

Oversee documentation, testing, validation, and compliance with standards.

Contribute directly to programming, simulation, commissioning, and troubleshooting on critical systems.
Qualifications

Bachelor's in Electrical, Controls, or related engineering field.

8 years in control systems engineering and project leadership.

Strong expertise in Siemens PLCs (S7-1500, Step 7, PLCSim, WinCC OA).

Experience with SCADA, data historians, industrial networking, and I&C documentation.

Ability to balance leadership with hands-on technical execution.

Strong communication skills to lead teams and coordinate external partners.
