Summary: We are seeking a Precision Electronics Test Technician to join our innovative team. This role entails conducting a variety of product tests using detailed instructions, test protocols, and technical documentation to evaluate and diagnose an extensive range of advanced components and systems, including circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and enclosures. Responsibilities include configuring and operating test equipment, diagnosing issues, recording outcomes, and managing material movement on testing platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, a strong work ethic, resilience under pressure, and a success-driven attitude while collaborating with diverse teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct testing, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of a wide array of electronic, mechanical, computer, laboratory, and scientific systems or equipment.
- Assist in crafting testing procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyze test data, document findings, and perform repairs as needed to ensure equipment reliability.
- Utilize engineering and scientific drawings, manuals, and related documentation for task execution, potentially including configuration/data management.
Required Background for Success:
- High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree/2-year post-high school training.
- Ability to work from approved procedures, schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electronic circuits to the component level and recognizing failure patterns.
- Support the team in isolating issues between test setups and units under test, resolving them effectively.
- Select and configure appropriate test equipment based on specifications, leveraging tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Communicate technical issues and test report details clearly to the engineering team, showcasing strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Thrive in a fast-paced repair, manufacturing, or production test environment.
- Excel in a team setting with effective collaboration and documentation abilities.
- Knowledge of computer architectures and data protocols to facilitate networking/interfacing with test equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with computers and software applications (desktop and technical), including potential use of programming languages like Python or C and tools such as LabVIEW or MATLAB.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of electronic test equipment, including Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, and Power Meters.
- Familiarity with testing metrics such as Insertion Loss, VSWR, Phase, Gain, SFDR, SNR, Harmonics, and S-band, L-band, X-Band frequencies.
- Background in inspecting CCAs to IPC 610A or equivalent standards.
- Expertise in high-precision soldering and assembly at the component level under microscopes.
- Associate’s Degree in Electronic Sciences is highly valued.
- Certifications like Certified Electronics Technician (CET) or Certified Test Engineer (CTE) to demonstrate expertise.
