Associate Buyer
Location: Suffolk County | Department: Procurement & Supply Chain | Type: Full-Time

Join our client's team as an Associate Buyer and take ownership of critical procurement functions that power our operations. From managing end-to-end purchasing to building strong supplier relationships, you’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and timely sourcing of materials and services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process for materials, OPEX, and services—ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and quality.

  • Lead RFQs, negotiations, and purchase order (PO) creation using SAP; resolve payment and invoice issues promptly.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to procure labware, chemicals, and operational supplies aligned with technical requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery timelines.

  • Evaluate and onboard alternative suppliers to diversify the supply base and reduce risk.

  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Use data tools to analyze spending, inventory, and procurement trends for process improvements.

  • Ensure logistics coordination for timely delivery and avoid stockouts.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or vendor management.

  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's or Diploma in Chemical/Engineering preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with SAP, Microsoft Suite, and procurement systems.

  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Knowledge of supply chain, inventory management, and compliance best practices.
