Responsibilities
- Identify and source appropriate vendors for required materials, equipment, and services.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels of maintenance and engineering supplies to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and timely distribution of procured items.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and evaluate new potential vendors.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Assist in the preparation of the procurement budget and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to reduce procurement expenses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery/ service receipts.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and inventory status.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any issues related to the quality of the items procured.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and engineering teams to understand their material and equipment needs.
- Work with the packing, manufacturing, and EHS departments to coordinate their procurement requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as finance and legal, to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Perform entire duties as communicated time to time by department management/designee.
- Participate in safety related programs and or safety teams as needed.
- Enforce and follow safety regulations and ensure the working area is clean.
- Adhere to companies Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
- 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with SAP system for purchase and finance-related activities
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations and quality standards.
- Understanding of maintenance, engineering, packing, manufacturing, and EHS operations and requirements.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in procurement documentation and inventory records.
- Problem-Solving: Identifies issues and implements effective solutions in procurement processes
- Analytical Skills: Analyzes procurement data and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Team Collaboration: Works well with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
