Job Title: Part-time Community Resource Worker

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the daily operation of the food bank, including sorting, stocking, and organizing donated items.
  2. Greet and assist clients in a courteous and respectful manner, providing them with information on available resources and assistance programs.
  3. Collaborate with volunteers to ensure efficient workflow and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  4. Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and track expiration dates, ensuring the availability of fresh and nutritious options.
  5. Support outreach efforts to raise awareness about the services and engage with the local community through events, presentations, and partnerships.
  6. Maintain accurate records of distribution, client interactions, and volunteer hours using designated databases and systems.
  7. Adhere to food safety standards and procedures to ensure the quality and integrity of distributed items.
  8. Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in social services, nutrition, or related fields preferred.
  2. Prior experience in food service, customer service, or nonprofit organizations is desirable.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including clients, volunteers, and staff members.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
  5. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry, are preferred.
  6. Commitment to the mission and values of the organization, with a passion for serving the community and addressing food insecurity.

Schedule: This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. Some evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate food distribution events and volunteer activities.
