Shift: Overnights 3 day work week

  • 6:45 pm Mon to 7:00 am Tue
  • 6:45 pm Tue to 7:00 am Wed
  • 6:45 pm Wed to 7:00 am Thu
Pay - 17.00- 22.00 hourly BOE


Reports to: Quality Manager
General Duties: The Quality Inspector is responsible for the visual and dimensional inspection of manufactured products, verifying parts conform to customer and print specifications. Collecting and entering data into SPC and in process records.


Essential Functions: The Quality Inspector is routinely responsible for the following:

  1. Ensure a safe and clean work environment by adhering to OPI safety policies and guidelines.
  2. Adhere to all applicable company policies, procedures, and management directives.
  3. Read and interpret engineering part drawings to determine customer requirements.
  4. Visually inspect product being manufactured based on inspection plan.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency at using precision inspection measuring and test equipment.
  6. Utilize measuring tools, equipment, and inspection plan to inspect dimensional characteristics of product being manufactured.
  7. Record and maintain inspection results via hard copy and/or computer software.
  8. Routinely communicate with production personnel regarding any quality related needs or issues.
  9. Promptly and effectively label and segregate discrepant or suspect product per procedures.
  10. Perform receiving inspection on an as-needed or as-requested basis.
  11. Perform dimensional or visual inspection studies on an as-needed or as-requested basis.




Minimum Requirements
  1. Must possess ability to perform all necessary communication requirements in English.
  2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos, as well as ability to write simple correspondences is required.
  3. Basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and common fractions are required.
  4. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  5. Prior plastics manufacturing preferred and may be required for certain machine/work cell assignment

Supervisory Responsibility: None
Physical Demands
  1. Hand / Eye coordination
  2. Frequent use of knives, cutters, and other tools for the trimming and finishing of plastic parts.
  3. Handling (holding, grasping, etc.) manual manipulation
  4. Wrist motion (repetitive flexation/ rotation)
  5. Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor
  6. Reach across or upward with hands and arms to retrieve parts or boxes of product
  7. Stoop and/or crouch to reach and move parts or boxes of product
  8. Lift or exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects frequently
  9. Lift or exert up to 30 pounds of force to move objects occasionally


Visual Activity
Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading work instructions, possible use of computers, and inspection of parts

Hearing Ability
Ability to monitor machine sound changes to take appropriate action and/or notify appropriate personnel.
