Position: Shipping Department
Lead Reports to: Shipping Supervisor/Manager
JOB STATEMENT: Join our team as a Shipping Department Lead and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping department. Assist the Supervisor in guiding and coordinating employees to achieve our safety, quality, and production goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Start each day by assessing the Shipping Department for safety, quality, and service concerns, promptly addressing any issues with the appropriate team members or departments.
• Collaborate with team members to complete necessary paperwork and reports, ensuring accurate production requirements and schedules are met.
• Conduct meetings in the absence of the supervisor, fostering effective communication and teamwork.
• Prioritize tasks to meet shipping demands efficiently, making adjustments as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Facilitate the movement of employees within the area to fulfill shipping requirements and maintain productivity.
• Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Work closely with the supervisor to anticipate and address potential challenges related to loading requirements, materials, or staffing, implementing proactive solutions for improvement.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and schedules to support efficient shipping processes. • Ensure timely repair or replacement of rejected products, contributing to overall quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting safety and efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Gain comprehensive understanding and proficiency in all positions within the Shipping Department.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous work-related experience or knowledge spanning two to three years.
