Marine Technician

In Season Schedule/Hours: Tuesday Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Off Season Schedule/Hours: Monday Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities

• The Marine Technician is responsible for providing expert level service to the Travis Marine customers by investigating, diagnosing, and repairing issues with boats in an efficient and accurate manner

• Expertly diagnose a wide variety of issues based upon experience, analysis, and testing

• Maintain leading-edge knowledge of marine diagnosis technology

• Oil and oil filter changes, fuel filter changes, raw water impeller changes, spark plug changes, transmission/v-drive fluid changes, lower unit fluid changes, etc

• Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues in order to make repairs

• Install accessories onto boats, such as docking lights, depth finders/GPS, bimini tops, underwater lights, stern thrusters, dual battery setups, etc

• Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on a variety of boats/motors

• Assist in the setup and testing of new boats

• Ability to summarize and winterize boats of all brands

• Be comfortable using a wide range of shop tools and equipment

• Maintain a positive attitude and be a productive member of our team

• Provide our customers with a positive service experience

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment

• Be a problem solver and be willing to tackle anything

• Any other tasks as requested by supervisor

• Work on the water and docks is also expected

• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, or crouch for extended periods of time and regularly required to walk

• High School education or equivalent experience

• Understanding of electrical systems and wiring

• Ability to communicate in a professional manner to our customers and associates

• Ability to perform heavy lifting up to and in excess of 60 pounds

• Ability to work both inside and outside

• Higher level technical certifications preferred
