Job Summary:
The Production Team at Carolina Ingredients typically work in labor intensive positions, continually repeating a process in a team environment to mass produce spice blends. They are required to stand on their feet for long periods of time and must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. The Production Team is comprised of the following positions: Blending Room Operator, Pack Room Operator, Forklift Operator and General Laborer.
Job Duties:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Blending Room Operator Responsibilities
- Responsible for all blending in production.
- Follows all GMPs and other company policies and procedures.
- Verifies ingredients and batch weights, before adding to blender, and following instruction on the blending procedure.
- Accurately maintains all blending documentation.
- Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitizing of all blenders and related equipment.
- Assists in all production responsibilities to assure completion of daily schedule.
- Responsible for emptying trash daily.
- Certified Forklift Operator.
- Advises the Quality department and Production Management of any situations that affect daily operations.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining food safety through the facility, within the scope of job responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pack Room Operator Responsibilities
- Responsible for all packaging operations.
- Follow all GMPs and other company policies and procedures.
- Puts empty container onto machine to be filled, fills to desired weight, seals container, labels finished product and metal detect all packaged product.
- Accurately maintains all bagging documentation.
- Certified Forklift Operator.
- Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitizing of all baggers and related equipment.
- Assists in all production responsibilities to assure completion of daily schedule.
- Responsible for emptying trash daily.
- Advises the Quality department and Production Management of any situations that affect daily operations.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining food safety through the facility, within the scope of job responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Forklift Operator Responsibilities
- Responsible for duties assigned by Production Management.
- Certified Forklift Operator
- Responsible for safely transporting pallets, Totes, and IBC units to/from warehouse, blending rooms and packing rooms.
- Responsible for emptying trash daily.
- Assists in all production responsibilities to assure completion of daily schedule.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining food safety through the facility, within the scope of job responsibilities.
- Advises the Quality department and Production Management of any situations that affect daily operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
General Labor
- Responsible for duties assigned by Production Management.
- Follows all GMPs and other company policies and procedures.
- Assists in all production responsibilities to assure completion of daily schedule.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and area.
- Advises the Quality department and Production Management of any situations that affect daily operations.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining food safety through the facility, within the scope of job responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
In the event of a Production Team member's absence, a cross-trained production team member and/or the Production Supervisor will oversee his/her responsibilities
Required Competencies & Knowledge:
Skill in:
- Forklift operation - Certified
Work Environment:
- Frequent production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and fluctuations in temperature.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis
- Repetitive movements, labor intensive position
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
- Climb on and off a forklift frequently
