Nesco Resource has partnered with a long-established distributor in Williamsport, PA and are currently interviewing for Material Handlers. The Material Handler plays a crucial role ensuring both quality and accurately processing client orders.
Job Duties:
- Accurately pick product customer orders using RF (radio frequency) hand-held computer devices.
- Place product into appropriate containers, including totes that travel via a conveyor line or book trucks that require manual movement.
- Stock and shelve inventory for future orders, scanning materials using hand-held RF devices, and addressing stocking errors as needed.
- Enter information into the computer system to facilitate order fulfillment.
- Process labels and stickers for clients.
- Capture images of materials to aid in proper processing and may strip materials for re-processing as required.
- Perform other duties as needed
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas by emptying trash cans, sweeping floors, and other housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Be open to cross-training and substitution of tasks that may involve higher classification, as required by supervision.
- High School diploma and/or equivalent.
- Proficient in meeting production standards of efficiency and skill.
- Ability to use RF hand-held computer devices.
- Strong reading and understanding of filing conventions, as well as the ability to write and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexibility to make safety-conscious decisions in material handling and adapt to changing work environments.
- Effective communication and respect for co-workers, adherence to company rules, policies, and standards of conduct.
- Physical capability to work in varied temperatures and conditions, including noise (conveyor), dust, and glue or adhesives.
- Ability to stand/walk for 10-hour shifts, frequently bend, lift objects weighing up to 70 lbs, and push book trucks weighing several hundred pounds.
- Excellent close and distant vision, dexterity in using hands and fingers, and clear communication abilities (talk and hear).
- Willingness to work scheduled overtime as required based on production needs.
Hours:
1 st Shift: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday Thursday Friday overtime if mandated is 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Pay:
1 st Shift: $12.00 per hour
