Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance, selecting the most cost-effective and efficient shipping methods.
  • Ensure the safe packaging of items for delivery, selecting appropriate shipping containers.
  • Generate bills of lading and verify shipment accuracy against work orders.
  • Receive and unload incoming materials, comparing packing slips with purchase orders for accuracy.
  • Process return shipments from customers and manage inventory logistics.
  • Review engineering drawings and records to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct inspections of shipments for damages or defects, documenting discrepancies and notifying relevant personnel.
  • Deliver items to requisitioning departments and facilitate necessary documentation.
  • Trace lost shipments and initiate proof of delivery procedures.
  • Maintain familiarity with industry-standard practices and safety guidelines.
  • Uphold lean practices and ensure a tidy workspace with proper waste disposal.
  • Cross-train in various departments and functions as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents and communicating effectively.
  • Strong mathematical skills for calculations and problem-solving.
  • Ability to reason through practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Familiarity with word processing, manufacturing, and shipping software.
  • Excellent time management skills and professionalism.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with forklifts, dollies, pallet jacks, and banding equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
  • Close vision abilities and physical strength to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Tolerance for working in varied environmental conditions, including exposure to chemicals and mechanical parts.
Shift:
  • 8:30 AM - 5 PM, Monday - Friday
Pay:
  • $18 - $22 ( ) an Hour, Based on Experience
