Nesco Resource is seeking a Part time Data Center Smart Hands-Break Fix Tech in the greater Secaucus, NJ area.

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Part-time IT Technician to join our team on a flexible schedule, working 2 to 3 days a week. This role will primarily focus on Client server break/fix, route and switch configuration, rack and stack operations, and troubleshooting network-related issues. Ideal for individuals seeking part-time employment with expertise in server hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform break/fix maintenance and repairs on Client server hardware to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
2. Configure and deploy route and switch devices, ensuring proper connectivity and network functionality.
3. Assist with rack and stack operations, including physical installation and cabling of servers, switches, and other network equipment.
4. Troubleshoot network-related issues, including connectivity issues, performance degradation, and hardware failures.
5. Collaborate with the IT team to diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
6. Document all service activities, including troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and equipment configurations.
7. Adhere to safety protocols and best practices during equipment handling and installation.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users as needed, both onsite and remotely.
9. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in server hardware and networking technologies.
10. Maintain inventory records and ensure proper stock levels of spare parts and equipment.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or relevant coursework preferred.
2. Proven experience in Client server hardware break/fix, route and switch configuration, and networking troubleshooting.
3. Familiarity with networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
4. Hands-on experience with rack and stack operations, including physical installation and cable management.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and end-users.
7. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
8. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
9. Flexible schedule availability to accommodate part-time work hours, with the potential for additional hours as needed.
