Plumbing/Fire Protection Designer
In this Hybrid Position, we are looking for that experienced Plumbing/Fire Protection
Designer will support the P/FP design team on projects in producing construction
documents. Responsibilities include performing plumbing system load calculations;
layout and sizing of piping systems; perform hydraulic calculations and equipment
selections, as well as coordinating with architectural and structural building components.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (AS/BSME).
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in mechanical systems design, specifically in sectors like healthcare, biotech, higher education, office buildings, large residential buildings, and hotels.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT, alongside competent use of MS Word and Excel.
- Experience in project design coordination is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of industry-specific codes and standards, including the Massachusetts State Plumbing Code, the fuel gas code, and NFPA standards (especially NFPA-13, 14).
Additional Requirements:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the plumbing sector is mandatory for consideration in this role.
