Experienced CNC Machinist
Qualifications
- CNC machinists must have excellent mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment, machine tools, and lathes, used for cutting, turning, and milling.
- CNC Turning, 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis set-up/operator for mill and lathe machines.
- In addition to having strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, must have good analytical skills and be able to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Most importantly, knowledgeable about precision measurement tools such as Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Height gauges, Drop Indicators, and Depth Micrometers.
- Must be familiar with in-cycle probing, and modern machining tools/techniques. Experience with programming and macros is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming; or completion of a full apprenticeship program; or successful completion of suitable company training preferred.
- Experience with machining hardened steel components to rockwells up 62Rc and holding extremely tight tolerances.
- At least 5 years of experience as a fully qualified machinist is required.
- Experience with SmartCam and/or Esprit software is preferred for a Lathe Lead position.
