Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team. The Forklift Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a variety of forklifts and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Document all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to prioritize tasks and minimize downtime.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following lockout/tagout procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or training in forklift maintenance and repair preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a forklift mechanic or similar role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
