Responsibilities
- Perform multiple survey activities with minimal or no supervision
- Boundary, topographic, ALTA, right of way and construction surveys for public and private clients
- Work may include preparation of CAD survey drawings
- Perform field survey activities in accordance with standards set by state statutes and the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping
- Assure Survey Crew adheres to procedures in the safety manual and uses all personal safety equipment provided
- Plan daily activities for multiple projects to meet productivity goals set by Survey Department Manager
- Supervise vehicle and equipment inventory, loading and maintenance
- Make timely requests for external equipment, procedural changes, new equipment purchases and vehicle maintenance to Survey Department Manager
- Supervise the Survey Crews use of equipment, preparation of sketches and notes, and electronic data collection
- Communicate with the entire Survey Department about all aspects of the project
- Work without day-to-day supervision and make decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority
- Prepare daily time sheets, data logs, expense reports and field change orders
- Provide input to Survey Department Manager for the formal performance evaluation of Survey Crew members
- Ability to work extended hours as required to meet client, project and/or business demands
Requirements
- Valid Drivers License
- 3-5 years of Survey Experience
- PLS or Certified Survey Technician would be preferred
- Previous experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Equipment
Education
- An Associates Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related degree is required
- CST Certification Preferred
