Position Summary
The Night Warehouse Clerk supports night-shift warehouse and logistics operations by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. This role enables smooth distribution center operations through accurate document processing, data tracking, and direct support of warehouse and transportation leadership. The position operates primarily in an office setting with occasional exposure to warehouse, cooler, and freezer environments.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Transportation Support

Prepare, process, and maintain routine warehouse and transportation documentation, including inbound documents, discrepancy reports, stock and damage claims, time sheets, requisitions, DVIRs, shipping labels, backhaul spreadsheets, delivery window dispatch logs, driver key logs, and route updates.

Support warehouse and transportation leadership with administrative and reporting needs.
Communication & Customer Support

Communicate effectively with internal teams to support operational needs.

Respond to general inquiries and telephone calls in a professional manner.
Data Verification & Compliance

Verify data accuracy to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Collect, track, and input operational metrics such as shorts, mispicks, damage, service levels, overtime, and trailer temperature logs.
Reporting & Data Management

Create and maintain basic charts, spreadsheets, databases, and reports for management review.

Maintain organized records and documentation.
Administrative Support

Monitor office supply inventory and initiate purchase orders as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Work Environment

Primarily office-based with occasional work in warehouse areas, including cooler and freezer environments.

Temperatures in some areas may reach as low as -5 F.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years of clerical or administrative experience required.
Education
-
High School Diploma or GED/equivalent required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer service and telephone etiquette.

Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Ability to perform cross-functional tasks and work a varying schedule.

Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others across the department.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Prior experience in a distribution or warehouse environment.
-
Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.

Familiarity with the geographic delivery area.

Experience with the following systems is preferred:

SAE, Truck Builder, Red Prairie, Kronos, RoadNet, XATA, Shopfax

Tandem, PowerDock, Checkpoint, Omnitracs, Airclic

Equipment inventory and warranty tracking systems
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk occasionally.

Work performed primarily at a desk with some movement throughout the warehouse.

No driving required.
