Position Overview
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role plays a key part in driving business results by supporting planning, forecasting, monthly close activities, and variance analysis. The Accounting Manager will manage workflows through Workday, direct the responsibilities of an ACII, and oversee an accounting clerk.
This is a fully onsite position with required attendance during month-end close. The selected candidate will work in a supportive, transparent, and growth-oriented culture that emphasizes integrity, collaboration, cross-functional influence, and continuous development.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Financial Reporting

Prepare and/or review ledger entries and account reconciliations.

Maintain and manage the general ledger system.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Assist with applicable regulatory reporting.

Conduct monthly and quarterly flux analysis.

Lead and support month-end close activities.

Research authoritative accounting literature for proper treatment of various topics.
Budgeting & Forecasting

Coordinate the budget planning process.

Support financial forecasting and business planning initiatives.

Contribute to financial reporting, analysis, and cost control support.
Management & Leadership

Manage workflow through Workday and field accounting-related questions.

Supervise and mentor an ACII and an accounting clerk.

Participate in hiring, training, and development of accounting staff.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with finance, operations, and other business units to support accounting needs.

Influence and partner cross-functionally to drive alignment and results.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum 3 years of related accounting experience (no entry-level candidates).

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.

Strong SOX compliance knowledge.

Proficiency in Excel.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in distribution or corporate finance (no banking).

Strong prioritization and time-management abilities.

Advanced financial acumen.

Master's degree (MBA) or CPA certification strongly preferred.

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle).
